Jupiter Refrigeration

We work out of Champaklal Udyog Bhavan on Avantikabai Gokhle Street in Girgaon. It’s an old building but it’s where we keep all our tools and spare parts. Most of the day is spent fixing fridges and cooling units that have stopped working. It gets hot in the workshop, especially in the summer months when everyone's appliances seem to break down at once. We have piles of copper pipes and gas canisters sitting around. Our hands are usually a bit greasy from the machines. We travel around quite a bit to people's houses or offices to see why their machines are making noise or not cooling. The mention of Sion Telephone Exchange helps people find us, even though the street name is the main thing. It’s a messy job sometimes, dealing with old compressors and leaky pipes. We don't have a big showroom. Most people just call us when they have a problem. We sit among the dismantled fridges and drink tea while we figure out what part needs replacing. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. My brother and I have been doing this for a long time. We learned by just taking things apart and putting them back together until they worked. We don't use any high-tech gadgets, just our wrenches and meters. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on. Sometimes we have to wait a week for a specific part to arrive from the supplier, and we just tell the customer that honestly instead of making up excuses about why it is taking time.
