Down at Office No-207 in the A Wing of Dattani Plaza, things stay pretty busy for Ssa Ship Management Pvt. Ltd. Being in Sakinaka means we are always dealing with that heavy Andheri Kurla Road traffic. If you work around Safed Pull, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Our office is on the second floor, and it’s filled with the sound of printers going and people talking on their phones. We deal with ships and crews, so there is a lot of back-and-forth communication that never really stops because the sea doesn’t have office hours. The walls are mostly covered with charts and calendars that we use to keep track of everything. We aren't the type to have a polished lobby with someone waiting to take your coat. Usually, you just walk in and see someone hunched over a desk covered in manifests and technical manuals. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a relief during the Mumbai summers. We drink a lot of water and try to stay on top of the emails coming in from different time zones. It can get a bit stressful when a ship has an issue, but we just take it one step at a time. It’s a real job with real problems to solve every day. We’ve been in this building for a while now, and the neighbors all know us as the shipping folks. We just keep our heads down and work.
