Our place is on the second floor of Building No 53. We are located in Bha, Masjid Bunder West, which is a very crowded and busy part of the city. You might know the Bombay Mercantile Co-operative Bank; we are quite close to that. Jayesh Chandra Bearing India Pvt Ltd is where we keep all kinds of bearings. The shelves are heavy and go all the way to the ceiling. It’s an old building, so the stairs are a bit narrow and steep. Carrying heavy boxes up and down is part of the daily workout here. The streets outside are always packed with carts and people moving goods. It’s the heart of the wholesale market, so it’s never quiet. Inside the office, it’s a bit cooler. We have a couple of old desks where we handle the billing and talk to customers. Many of the people who come to see us have been buying bearings from us for years. We know them by name. We don't have a website with fancy photos. We just have the physical stock and a ledger. Sometimes we have to hunt through the back of the shelves to find a specific size. It’s a bit dusty, but that’s expected with metal parts. We just focus on getting the right parts to the right people every day. It’s straightforward work and we like it being that way.
