Jayalaxmi Adappa is located in Powai, specifically in Room No 204 of Building No 2. This isn't a typical shop with a big sign out front; it’s more of a small office space tucked away in a residential-style building. Powai is such a busy area with all those tall glass buildings, but our spot is much more quiet and simple. Most of the work involves handling day-to-day administrative tasks or managing local records. I spend a lot of time sitting at a small desk with my laptop and a few notebooks. The room is quite small, so I have to keep things very tidy, or it starts to feel cluttered very quickly. There is a single window that lets in some light, and I usually have a small fan going because it can get quite stuffy in the afternoons. Sometimes I hear the neighbors talking in the hallway or the sound of the lift going up and down. It is a very independent way of working, and I don't have a big staff around me. Occasionally, people from the building will knock on the door to ask a question or just say hello. It is a very basic setup, nothing like the fancy offices you see near the lake. I have been working out of this room for a while now, and it’s just a quiet place where I can get my things done without any fuss or distraction.
