J K Sons Mobile Shop

J K Sons Mobile Shop is located over in Antop Hill, specifically in the Bharat Udyog Nagar area. It’s an industrial sort of place, so there are always trucks and vans moving around. We’ve been here quite a while. My dad actually got the space first, and then we turned it into the mobile shop you see now. It’s a family thing. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Mumbai. We just want to do our job and go home. The interior is pretty basic with wooden shelves we built ourselves. Sometimes it’s a bit dusty because of all the construction and industrial work nearby. You get used to the smell of grease and the sound of machines from the neighbors. We mostly deal with people working in the local factories. They come in during their lunch breaks or after their shifts. It’s a lot of long hours, especially on Saturdays. We don’t use any slick marketing or anything like that. If someone likes what we do, they tell their friends, and that’s how we keep going. It’s honest work. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic crates when it’s slow. Antop Hill isn't the fanciest part of town, but it feels like home to us. We know most of the people who walk past our door every day and that makes the days feel shorter and more pleasant for everyone here.
