Our office is up on the third floor of Silva Croft, which is over in Bandra West on the 7th Cross in Kalyan Nagar, right on the 1st Main. It’s a bit of a climb, especially when you’re carrying heavy bags of drapes or boxes of lights, but we’re used to it by now. Flat N is where we handle the paperwork and meet people to talk about their events. Bandra is always busy, so there’s a constant sound of rickshaws and cars coming from the street below. J H Fernandes started this a long time ago and we just keep it going. The building itself has that old Bandra feel, a bit weathered by the salt air but still standing strong. We have fabric swatches all over the place and folders full of sketches for different stage setups. It’s not the kind of place with a receptionist or a fancy waiting area. You just walk in and we’re probably in the middle of sorting through some inventory or fixing a decoration. We spend a lot of time on the phone or out at venues, so the office is mostly a place to recharge and reorganize between gigs. On rainy days, the third floor gets a bit damp, but we just put on the fan and keep moving. It’s a family-run kind of vibe here, and we know all the local shops and the best places to grab a quick snack while we work.
