Engel Machinery India Pvt. Ltd. is situated at 7, Excom House, right on Saki Vihar Road in Saki Naka. If you know Andheri East, you know this part of town is usually gridlocked with traffic. Our office is in a sturdy building that has seen plenty of companies come and go. We have a regular routine here, starting early to try and beat the worst of the noise outside. The space is filled with desks, some old filing cabinets, and a small area where we have our lunch. It’s not a showroom or anything like that, just a place where the administrative side of the machinery business gets handled. We deal with a lot of technical questions and coordination from this spot. The windows let in some light, but they also let in the sound of the auto-rickshaws honking at the junction. We’ve got a small team here, and we all know each other’s habits by now. Sometimes the coffee machine breaks down, or we run out of printer ink at the worst moment, but we manage. It’s a straightforward office for people who don’t need much more than a desk and a working phone. We just focus on the tasks we have for the day and try to get home before the evening rush hour really kicks in. It’s a decent place to work, even with the local chaos. We often share a few laughs over the strange emails we get from time to time.
