If you ever find yourself walking through the streets of Gulalwadi, you will likely come across us at Kika Bhai Mansion on Kika Street. Our shop is located at number 6a/7. The location is definitely a bit of a tight squeeze in this neighborhood with all the narrow lanes and the constant stream of people moving goods back and forth all day long. The shop itself is filled to the brim with all sorts of hardware items, ranging from basic nails to the specific tools that people need for their daily repair jobs. Our daily routine involves dusty work, and there is almost always someone coming in to ask for a very specific size of screw or a particular type of hinge that we have to go dig out from the back of the storage area. We have been at this specific location for a good bit of time now. The building, Kika Bhai Mansion, has that classic old Mumbai feel to it that you don't see much of anymore. You really get used to the loud noise of the street traffic after a while. Most of our regular customers are local workers or guys doing small renovations nearby who just need to grab something quickly. We keep things very simple here. There is no big display or bright lights, just many shelves full of metal and tools. Sometimes we don’t have exactly what someone wants right that second, so we have to order it in. That is just how things go.
