If you ever find yourself walking down Durgadevi Street in the 3rd Kumbharwada area, you’ll see Ambica Hardware Stores at number 71. This is an old-school kind of place. We’ve been here for a long time, surrounded by the constant noise of metal and wood being worked on in the nearby shops. It’s a narrow street, and it’s usually full of handcarts and people trying to move heavy loads back and forth. Our shop isn’t very big, so we have to stack our hardware all the way up to the ceiling. We have everything from basic nails and screws to the heavier tools that the local workmen need for their daily jobs. Sometimes it feels like a bit of a maze inside, but we know exactly where everything is kept. We don't bother with any modern branding or polished sales talk. We just open up the shutters early and stay until the work is finished for the day. A lot of our customers are neighbors who are fixing up their own places and need something reliable. They trust us because we’ve been part of this street for so long. The air here always smells like iron and dust, and the monsoon months can make things a bit damp, but we just get on with it. You won’t find a sales team here; you just come in, tell us what you’re looking for, and we’ll find it for you in the back.
