Gudhi Engineering

Malad West is always a bit of a maze, especially once you get into the industrial estates. Gudhi Engineering is located at D-6/Ag in the Malad Industrial Estate. It’s on the Ramchandra Lane extension, right in the heart of Kachpada. The roads around here are always full of tempo trucks and people moving crates. Our unit isn't the biggest, but it’s ours. We’ve been here long enough that we don't even notice the noise from the other workshops anymore. Usually, the morning starts with opening up the shutters and letting some air in. It gets stuffy inside with all the machinery running. We do a lot of small-scale engineering work. It’s a lot of measuring, cutting, and checking things twice. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we all know the local spots for a quick lunch. There’s a specific smell to this area, a mix of machine oil and the snacks being fried at the corner stall. We don’t really do much in the way of decoration. The walls are lined with tools and old calendars. It’s a practical space for practical work. When the rains hit Mumbai, this whole area slows down a bit because of the puddles, but we keep the machines running. It’s just how things are at the estate. We like being part of this little industrial community in Malad and keeping things moving.
