If you come down I.B. Patel Road in Goregaon East, you’ll find us in the P.M. Industrial Estate. We are in Gala Number 6. It’s a tight space, like most of these industrial units are. There is always a lot of dust and noise because of the machines and the trucks passing by outside. We deal with plastic items, so there are stacks of crates and raw materials piled up almost to the ceiling. It gets pretty hot inside during the afternoon, especially when the machines have been running for hours. We have a small table in the corner where we do the billing and take phone calls. Most of our workers have been with us for a long time, so they know the routine. We don't use much fancy technology here, just the basics to keep the production going. The floor is concrete and has some cracks from years of moving heavy stuff around. Sometimes we have tea from the stall at the end of the road. It’s a very manual kind of life. We are usually busy packing things into sacks or loading them onto the small tempos that come into the estate. It's nothing fancy to look at, just a typical Goregaon workshop where people work hard and go home tired. We keep our doors open for the breeze, even if it brings in the street noise.
