Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd.

We are based at Plant 04 in Vikhroli. It's a big place. Every morning the gates open and the shift starts. Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd has been here a long time. You can see the structures from the road. The fans are always spinning inside. We mostly deal with the day-to-day manufacturing tasks. It gets quite loud when all the machines are running at once. My desk is tucked away in a corner near the main assembly floor. We don't have fancy decorations, just the stuff we need to get through the day. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall outside the gate. It’s a lot of metal and hard work. Vikhroli has changed over the years but this plant stays pretty much the same. We focus on getting the pieces right and moving them out to where they need to go. There’s a lot of walking involved because the floor is so big. Sometimes it feels like we spend half the day just moving from one end of Plant 04 to the other. It's not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy. We see the same faces every day and we’ve all got our routines down. The lighting isn't the best in some parts, but we know where everything is. It's just a regular workplace where things get built. We try to keep things organized even when it's hectic. That's just how it goes here.
