You’ll find Gautam Trading Co on the first floor of the Mahindra Industrial Estate. The address is 2 Sion Road No 29. Being in an industrial estate means it's not the prettiest place, but it's where the real work happens. We handle trading and various supplies. The office is right above the main floor where things are constantly moving. It’s often a bit loud because of the machinery and trucks moving in and out of the estate. We have a small team here. We don't spend money on fancy furniture or decor. Our desks are old and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but they serve their purpose. We just focus on the orders coming in and the shipments going out. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking inventory lists. Sion is a busy hub for this kind of thing, so we fit right in with the atmosphere. We don't have a big sales pitch or a catalog. People call us because they need something specific, and we see if we have it or can get it from our contacts. It’s straightforward business. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the heavy Mumbai traffic, and we just deal with it as it comes. We’ve been in this estate for years and know most of the other businesses around here. It’s a gritty, hardworking environment and we don’t try to make it look like something it’s not.
