Gautam Plastic Industries is based in Goregaon West. It’s a straightforward operation where we manufacture various plastic items. The shop floor is always busy, and there is a constant sound of machinery in the background. We have several molds and machines that we use daily. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find people in suits. We’re usually in our work clothes, making sure the plastic is being processed correctly. The warehouse part of the building is usually stacked high with bags of raw materials and finished products ready to be shipped. Goregaon is a hectic place to do business, with lots of traffic and noise, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We’ve been here long enough to know most of the other business owners on the block. We don’t spend money on advertising or big signs. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for a long time or heard about us from someone else. It’s a small team, and everyone knows their role. We just focus on making sure the output is consistent. Sometimes a machine acts up and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. That’s just how it goes in this line of work. We aren't looking for fame, just a steady stream of work to keep the lights on. We take things one order at a time.
