Gauri Ayurvedic Clinic

Our little clinic is located in Raut Chawl on L.J. Road in Mahim. It is a very busy area, and the noise from the street is something you just get used to after a while. I have been practicing Ayurveda here because I think it is important to have these traditional options available right in the neighborhood. The chawl has a lot of history, and the people living here are like a big family. My space is quite small, with shelves full of different oils and dried herbs that I mix myself. The smell of the medicines is quite strong, but most people say they find it soothing. It is not a polished or fancy place. The walls have a few marks, and the floor is a bit uneven, but it serves its purpose well. I usually have a few people waiting on the benches outside the door. We do not have a fancy booking system, so people just show up and wait their turn. I spend a lot of time talking to my patients about their daily habits and what they eat. It is more about a way of life than just giving out a pill. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little bit near the door during the monsoon, so we have to keep a bucket there. It is just a real, local clinic where we try to help folks feel better using what nature provides. I enjoy being a part of Mahim’s daily bustle.
