G H Plastics is based in Kandivali West at Phase 1. Our unit is Gala No 10 in the Shantiseva Society. It’s a typical small-scale manufacturing unit. We have our machines lined up along the walls and a big table in the middle for sorting. The plastic smell is pretty strong when we are running the heat, but we keep the doors open for some air. This part of Kandivali has a lot of small shops like ours. We mostly produce plastic items that people use in their daily lives. The noise of the machines is something you just learn to ignore after a few days. We start early in the morning to get ahead of the heat. Most of the time, the floor is full of bags of raw material waiting to be used. We don't have a lot of space for an office, so the desk is basically right next to the production line. Sometimes the power goes out, and we all just sit outside the gala for a bit until it comes back. Shantiseva Society is a friendly enough place where everyone knows what the person next door is making. We’ve been in Gala No 10 for a long time now. It’s not a shiny factory, just a working gala where we put in our hours and get the orders done for our regular clients.
