Freelance Networks operates out of 30/B on Peddar Road. It is a nice enough area but the traffic can be a real headache during the morning and evening rush. We are not a massive tech company with hundreds of employees in matching shirts. It is just a small group of us who happen to know a lot about routers and cables and how to get the internet working when it fails. We spend a lot of our time out at other people's offices setting things up so our own office is actually pretty empty most of the week. When we are here we are usually testing some new equipment or trying to finish up the paperwork that keeps piling up on the desks. We started this business because we wanted to work for ourselves instead of being stuck in a corporate cubicle all day. It is a bit more stressful this way because everything depends on us but we prefer it. We do not have any glossy brochures or a dedicated sales team. Most of our work comes from one person telling another that we did a decent job for them. The office is functional with a few desks and a lot of coffee cups lying around. We wear jeans and t-shirts and try to explain technical things in a way that regular people can actually understand. Sometimes things go wrong and we stay up all night fixing them.
