Our shop is number 5 in Irani Colony, right near the BMC Garden in Goregaon East. It’s a busy area especially with the Link Road right there and the Pravasi Industrial Estate nearby. We mostly deal with chairs, tables, and whatever else people need for their homes or offices. The shop isn't very big, so we end up stacking a lot of the pieces to make room. It smells like sawdust and varnish most of the time. We do some of the finishing work right in the back. It’s a bit of a squeeze when a new shipment comes in, and we have to move everything around. We’ve been in Goregaon for a while now. People from the colony often stop by just to chat or see what’s new in the window. We don't have a big sales team. Usually, it's just me or my brother here. We aren't trying to be a big showroom like the ones you see in the mall. We just offer solid furniture that lasts. Sometimes the finish isn't factory-perfect because we do a lot of it by hand, but it’s sturdy. The traffic on the Mulund Link Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we usually stay open a bit later until it clears up. It gives us time to organize the tools and sweep up. It’s a simple life, just selling furniture and making sure customers are okay with what they bought.
