You can find E Tayebali at 78 Bhendi Bazar. It is a very old part of the city and the streets are always packed with people and carts. Our shop has been here for a long time, and it has a certain look that you only find in this neighborhood. The front of the shop is narrow, and we have things stacked all the way to the ceiling to make use of every bit of space we have. It’s a bit dark inside once you move away from the front door, so we have some old lamps to help us see what we are doing. The air in Bhendi Bazar is thick with the smell of spices, food from the street vendors, and the general bustle of the market. We are used to the noise of people shouting and horns honking right outside our door. It is a small place, and sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in when we have a lot of customers, but we like the energy of the area. We know the other shopkeepers nearby, and we often share a cup of tea on the sidewalk when things slow down in the late afternoon. It is not a modern setup by any means, but it works for us and we know where every single item is hidden in the back, even if it looks messy.
