We set up Durian Furnitures on Ved Road in Goregaon East, right near the Noorani Masjid. It's a busy area and people are always walking by looking at what we have sitting out on the pavement. We have all sorts of things like chairs, tables, and cabinets crammed into the space. It’s not one of those huge showrooms where everything is perfect and shiny. There’s dust on the floor sometimes and we move things around constantly to make more room for new stock. The guys in the back are usually busy assembling pieces or fixing something that got a little nicked during transport. Goregaon is a fast-moving place and we’ve seen a lot of changes on this street over the years. We get a real mix of people coming in—some just want a cheap stool for the kitchen and others are looking for a whole bedroom set. We don’t do any fancy advertising. Most of our customers are just locals who live in the nearby buildings. It gets a bit chaotic when a new shipment arrives and we have to unload everything right there on the sidewalk. But we manage to get it inside. The staff knows where everything is even if it looks a bit disorganized to an outsider. It’s just a local shop for local people. We aren't trying to be a big chain. We just sell furniture and try to keep the prices fair for the people around here.
