Our shop, Durga Appliance & Mobile, sits right here in Dahisar 1. We’ve been around this part of the neighborhood for quite some time now. Mostly, we deal with phones and home appliances that people bring in or need help with. It’s a small space, so it gets packed with boxes and parts pretty quickly. You’ll usually find one of us behind the counter or tinkering with something that isn’t working right. We don’t have a big team or a fancy showroom. It is just a practical place to get things fixed or to find what you need for your house. Sometimes the floor is a bit dusty from all the foot traffic, but that is just how it goes when you’re busy. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. Dahisar 1 is a good place to be located. It feels like a real community here. We don't spend money on big signs or flashy lights. We just keep the lights on and focus on the work sitting on the bench. If a mobile screen is cracked or a toaster stops heating, we take a look. It’s not complicated. We just try to be useful to the folks living around here. Every day is a bit different depending on what breaks or who stops by to chat. We just keep at it, day in and day out. We aren't doing anything fancy, just keeping things running for our neighbors.
