Duck Laboratories

Duck Laboratories is based at Peerbhoi Mansion, which is number 81-A on Princess Street. This is one of those old parts of the city where the streets are narrow and the buildings have been standing forever. Princess Street is famous for medicine and chemicals, so there’s a constant smell of something clinical in the air. Our office in Peerbhoi Mansion has high ceilings and those big, heavy doors that are hard to push. It’s a very busy area, and the noise from the market outside comes right through the windows. We’ve got lab equipment and glass bottles tucked away in every cupboard. It’s not a modern lab with white walls and bright lights; it feels more like an old workshop. The stairs are made of stone and they’re worn down in the middle from all the people walking on them for decades. We do our testing and paperwork here. It gets very crowded on the sidewalk outside with people loading and unloading crates of medicine. Sometimes it takes ages just to get into the building because of the handcarts blocking the entrance. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and we're right there at our desks. It’s a simple, honest way to work in a part of town that has its own rhythm. We’ve been here a long time and the neighborhood hasn't changed much in all those years.
