Bombay Trading Co.

Bombay Trading Co. is located in Dongri, which is one of the oldest parts of the city. We are at 5-F Noorani Manzil, Shop No. 12/A on Navroji Hill Road No 2. This area is always full of people, handcarts, and bikes weaving in and out. It’s a very tight space and the building is quite old, with those narrow staircases and high ceilings. We spend our days surrounded by boxes and ledgers. Trading is all about who you know and making sure the goods arrive when they are supposed to. Sometimes the trucks can't even get down the street because it’s too narrow, so we have to carry things by hand. It’s a lot of manual work and sweating, especially in the summer months. We don't have fancy computers for everything; we still do a lot of things the old-fashioned way with pens and paper. The shop isn't big, but it’s packed from floor to ceiling with stock. We have regulars who have been buying from us for decades, and we usually stop to have a chat and some tea with them. We don't do any flashy advertising or anything like that. People in Dongri know where we are if they need us. It’s a noisy, busy, and sometimes frustrating place to work, but we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves in a quiet office. It’s just how trading goes around here in the heart of town.
