We have been here at the A to Z Industrial Estate in Lower Parel for a good while now. It is unit 204. If you know Ganpatrao Kadam Marg, you know how busy it gets around here. Some days the traffic is just a mess, but we manage. We just come in every morning, check what needs doing, and get to work with the fabrics. It is not a very big space, but it fits what we need to do. There are always rolls of cloth everywhere and the sound of the machines running in the background. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty. We mostly just keep our heads down and try to keep up with the orders. It’s a lot of manual work, moving things around, checking the quality by hand. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. New buildings coming up everywhere. But we are still here in the same spot. It’s nothing fancy, just a regular workplace where we spend most of our daylight hours. Sometimes we stay late when things get backed up. We usually grab tea from the stall downstairs during breaks. It’s just how things go here. We don't have a big team, just a few people who have been around for a long time and know how things work. We don't do much fancy stuff, just the usual textile work that keeps the business moving day to day. It’s hard work but it’s what we know.
