Dimko Pavers

Down in Goregaon West, at the H M T Layout, you’ll find us at 103/14. Dimko Pavers is basically a yard and a small office where we handle all the heavy stuff. It’s not a clean job. There is always dust from the stones and the smell of wet cement when we’re working on a batch. We spend most of our time outdoors or in the shed, checking the quality of the blocks. It’s hard on the back, but seeing a finished pile of pavers ready to go out is a good feeling. The office is just a small room with a desk that has seen better days and a calendar from three years ago still hanging on the wall. We don't really care about the decor as long as the trucks can get in and out of the layout without getting stuck. The neighbors sometimes complain about the noise when we’re loading up early in the morning, but we try to be quick about it. We’ve been doing this for a while and we know how the weather affects the curing process. It’s a practical business. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Mumbai, just the one that does the work without a lot of fuss. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to shout over the sound of the mixer or wait for us to wipe our hands on a rag.
