Dilkhush Special School

We've been here on Juhu Tara Road for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot but once you walk through the gates of Dilkhush Special School, things feel different. Our days are mostly filled with trying to help the students find their own way through things. It isn't always easy or quiet. Some mornings start with a lot of noise and others are slower. We spend a lot of time in the classrooms just working on the basics. The building itself has seen better days, but it serves its purpose for the families around here. Most people know us because we’re right by the main road. The staff here mostly just gets on with the work. We don't really do much fancy stuff. It’s more about the routine and making sure the kids feel okay being here. Sometimes we take a walk if the weather isn't too hot, though the traffic outside can be a bit much. It’s a local place. Most of the teachers live nearby and have been coming here for years. We just try to keep things steady. There's always a lot of paperwork to deal with, and some days feel longer than others when the humidity is high. But that's just how it goes in Mumbai. We keep the doors open and do what needs to be done. It’s a plain sort of life here at the school, nothing too complicated about it. We just focus on the day ahead.
