Dhakan Hemang Bhagwandas

My place is at 7 Gaothan, on the first floor. If you are looking for it, just find the Janta Hotel and we are right near there. It’s a busy little pocket of the neighborhood. I’m Dhakan Hemang Bhagwandas and this is where I stay busy. The building is one of those older ones where everyone knows each other. Being on the first floor is convenient because I don't have to climb too many stairs. It’s a small space, mostly filled with the things I need for work. I have a small window that looks out onto the street. I often see people heading into the Janta Hotel for their meals. The smell of cooking sometimes drifts up here, which makes me hungry. I usually keep a few bottles of water and some biscuits in a drawer for when I’m working late. It’s not a polished corporate office with glass walls. The floor tiles are a bit chipped in the corners and the door squeaks when you open it. I don't mind. It feels lived-in and real. I spend a lot of time here, especially during the busy months. Sometimes friends from the neighborhood pop in just to say hello. We talk for a few minutes and then I get back to it. It’s a simple way of living and working. I don’t need much more than what I have here. It’s my regular routine and it works just fine.
