Devesh Koli

I am Devesh Koli, and my work happens out of a space at B-46 on the sixth floor along St Xaviers School Road in Mahim. Being up on the sixth floor means it is a bit quieter than the street level, though you can still hear the school kids and the traffic if the windows are open. It’s not a big corporate operation. It’s mostly just me and a small team handling our daily tasks and meeting people who come by for help. The building is older, but it serves our purposes just fine. Mahim is a great neighborhood because everything is close by, though finding parking near the school can be a nightmare some days. Inside the office, we have a few computers and some chairs for visitors. We don’t do any flashy marketing or have a big sign outside. Most of our work comes from people who live in the area or heard about us through a neighbor. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing out notes for various projects. It is a simple, functional place where we try to get things done without making a big fuss. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, but that's part of working in an older Mumbai block. We just keep things moving one day at a time, trying to stay on top of the paperwork and the messages.
