Della Tecnica Architects & Interior Designers

We've been at the Star Building in Mumbai for a while now, up on the first floor. It’s a busy spot in the 400009 area. Della Tecnica is basically just a group of us who enjoy drawing up plans and thinking about how rooms should look. The office gets a bit cluttered with samples and blueprints, but that’s just how we work. Most mornings start with a lot of tea and looking over whatever project is on the desk. A mix of architecture and interior work keeps us busy, so one day it’s about a wall and the next it’s about where a light goes. Glamour isn't really part of the daily routine here. Sometimes hours are spent just arguing over a small detail in a drawing or waiting for a contractor to call back. Dealing with the heat in Mumbai is part of the job too when we go out to sites. People stop by the office to talk about their houses or shops, and we just try to figure out what makes sense for them. Practicality is what we aim for. A big fancy reception doesn't exist here, just some chairs and our computers. This space in the Star Building feels like home after all these years. Drawing and planning is what we do, trying to make things work within the budgets people give us. It's how we earn a living, and it's what we know best.
