Crown Boards

Our place is in Ayesha Apartment, over in Santacruz West on 2nd Hasnabad. It is a residential area mostly, so we try our best not to make too much noise during the day. We work with boards and various different kinds of wood materials for furniture. The space is on the ground floor, which makes it a lot easier to move those heavy sheets in and out of the building. It is a bit tight whenever a new shipment comes in on the truck. We have to lean everything against the walls and watch our step so we do not trip. The air inside always smells like fresh sawdust and glue. We have an old circular saw that we use sometimes, though we try to do the big cutting jobs elsewhere to keep the dust down. Most of the people who come to us are local contractors or guys doing up a flat nearby in the neighborhood. It is a very local feel here. We know most of the neighbors and the other shopkeepers on the corner. Sometimes the narrow street gets blocked by a delivery van and everyone just has to wait their turn. It is just how things go in Santacruz. We do not have a big sign outside, just a small one near the door. The interior is just piles of wood and a desk for the accounts.
