You can find us at 28-C in Mazgaon, not far from the Basera Building. Craftman Furnitures is more of a workshop than a showroom. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the smell of wood shavings and varnish. We have been making furniture here for years, using hand tools and some old machinery that still works perfectly fine. It’s a dusty place, and there’s usually the sound of a saw or a hammer going in the background. We don't have a fancy catalog. Most of our work comes from people in the neighborhood who need a sturdy cupboard or a new dining table. We talk to them, figure out what they need, and then get to work. Mazgaon is a hardworking area, and we fit right in. Sometimes the space feels a bit cramped because we have so many projects going on at once. We have pieces of teak and plywood leaning against the walls and half-finished chairs in the corners. My father started this, and now I’m the one making sure the joints are tight and the finish is smooth. We don't use any automated assembly lines. Everything is done by hand, one piece at a time. It takes longer that way, but the furniture lasts much longer. We just like making things that people can actually use in their homes for years and years.
