Classic Computers

You can find Classic Computers over at No. 23 Maru Niwas on Carter Road No. 7. We are right in Borivali East, directly across from the Masjid. It’s a handy spot because there are always people moving around the neighborhood, going to prayer or heading to the station. Inside, it’s mostly shelves full of old monitors, tangled wires, and various computer parts that we’ve collected over the years. We spend most of our time hunched over desks with tiny screwdrivers and soldering irons. The floor is a bit uneven and the paint is peeling in the corners, but it doesn't bother us much. We usually have a small radio playing softly in the background to break the silence while we focus on the hardware. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded when a few people come in at once to ask questions about their broken laptops. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us who know our way around a motherboard. The street outside can get quite jammed with rickshaws and cars, especially on Friday afternoons when things get busy. We keep a stash of biscuits in the drawer for when we get hungry and can't find a moment to leave the shop. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving during the humid months. It’s a simple setup, no fancy glass displays or bright neon lights. We just open up the metal shutters every morning and see what the day brings us.
