Chiguru Poultry & Cattle Farm

Chiguru Poultry & Cattle Farm is located inside the Novelty Silk Mill Compound in Santacruz East. We are at Bungalow No 167, which is part of a row house setup, number 42. It’s an interesting place to have a farm-related business, especially being tucked away in a compound like this. We spend our time managing the supplies and looking after the logistics of the livestock. There’s always something to do, whether it’s checking on the feed or making sure the records for the cattle are up to date. The compound itself is a bit of an old place with a lot of history. You can still see parts of the old mill structures around. Our space is functional and basic. We have a few desks and some storage for the equipment. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate, so we usually get our exercise in. The air feels a bit different here than on the main road. We get a lot of calls from people asking about prices and availability. It’s a lot of manual work and tracking data on paper before we put it into the computer. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play outside the bungalow, which adds a bit of noise to the day. We stay busy from morning till evening. It’s a practical business and we just focus on getting the tasks done one by one without overcomplicating things. Most days are pretty much the same but we like the work.
