Chetana Industries

We are based at 188 in the old Bombay Talkies Compound in Malad West. It’s a place with a lot of history, though most of it is just old buildings and broken walls now. Chetana Industries takes up a corner of the compound. It’s a bit dusty because of all the construction going on nearby. We have been here for a long time, so we know all the shortcuts around the back lanes. The roof is made of tin, so when it rains during the monsoon, it gets really loud inside. We have to shout to hear each other over the sound of the water hitting the metal. We don't mind it, though. It’s just part of being in this area. We make things here, mostly using the older machines we've had for years. There’s a stray cat that hangs around the entrance, and we give it some milk or leftovers sometimes. We aren't a high-end factory with shiny floors. It’s just a place where people work hard and get their hands dirty. My brother manages the floor and I handle the visitors. We don't get many visitors, honestly. Most of our work is just repeat orders from people who have known us for decades. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just make the products and send them out. The compound can be a bit confusing to navigate. You have to turn left at the big tree to find us.
