I am based at 77/78 in Santacruz East. It is a decent-sized space where I have been working for many years. The neighborhood is always active, with a lot of noise from the street and people passing by. Inside, I have got my setup for whatever needs doing that day. It is not a polished environment by any means. There are stacks of boxes in the corners and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. I do not mind it though, because it feels like a real workplace. I deal with all kinds of people, and I try to treat everyone the same. I do not use big words or try to sound like I am more important than I am. I am just here to do my job. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it is quiet for hours. That is just the nature of it. I usually start my day early to get ahead of the heat. The area around here has changed quite a bit since I first started, but my routine stays mostly the same. I have a few people who help me out when things get too busy. We just get on with it. If someone needs something, they know where to find me. It is a straightforward operation. I value being honest with people and just telling them the truth about what can be done. I don't see any reason to make things harder than they are.
