Our place, Braidwell Machine Co., is at 60, Swaminarayan Godown. It’s located just outside the Dariapur Gate. If you know the old city area, you know how tight and busy the streets can get around the gates. Being near the Swaminarayan Godown means there is always a lot of loading and unloading happening. It’s a very traditional commercial area. The godown itself is a big, sturdy structure, and we’ve made our home in unit 60. It’s a practical choice for a machine company because we need the space and the access for moving heavy stuff. Sometimes it is hard to find parking nearby, but we make do. It’s not the kind of place you come to for a fancy meeting. It’s dusty, noisy, and full of work. We’ve been here for years, and the atmosphere hasn’t changed much. The tea stalls nearby are where we usually end up talking shop with other people from the godowns. There’s a certain way of doing things here that hasn't changed in decades. We like being part of that history. Outside the Dariapur Gate, the city is always moving, but inside our unit, we just focus on the machines. It’s a simple setup. We open the big doors in the morning and stay busy until it’s time to head home.
