Our shop is right at No. 41 on Nagdevi Cross Lane. If you have ever been to this part of the city, you know how packed it gets. There are people carrying heavy loads on their shoulders and handcarts blocking the way almost every hour of the day. We have been at this spot for a long time now. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit creaky, but it has a lot of character. We use the P. O. Box No. 3029 for our mail because sometimes the postman has a hard time reaching the door through the crowds. Inside, it smells like metal and old paper. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, filled with boxes and parts that have been sitting there for years. It’s dusty and a bit dark, but we know exactly where everything is kept. You don't come here for a fancy shopping experience; you come here because we have what you need. The noise from the street never really stops, but after a few years, you just stop noticing it. We keep the fans running to move the air around, and there’s always a glass of tea sitting on someone's desk. It’s a busy, cramped, and honest way to spend the day. We are just part of the fabric of Nagdevi Cross Lane, doing what we have always done. Someone is usually shouting for a cart to move, but that is just Mumbai for you.
