Down at Narshi Natha Street, things are always a bit chaotic with the trucks. Bombay Karnataka Transport Co operates out of the Matruchaya Building in the Government Industrial Estate. Our spot is G-3/378/80. It’s a busy corner of the world where diesel fumes and the sound of heavy engines are just part of the background. We handle the routes between here and Karnataka, mostly focused on getting loads from one point to the next without too much fuss. The office floor is usually covered in delivery notes and logbooks. It’s not the cleanest place because of all the industrial dust, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to drivers who just pulled in from a long haul. The building itself has seen better days, but it’s sturdy enough. There’s always someone coming in to check on a shipment or sign a paper. We don’t use any high-tech systems, just the basic stuff that keeps the wheels turning. The mornings are the loudest when everyone is trying to get on the road at once. Being in this industrial estate means we are surrounded by warehouses and other transport shops. It’s a rough and tumble kind of business, but we’ve been at it on Narshi Natha Street for quite some time. We just keep the records straight and make sure the trucks keep moving.
