Bharat Seating Systems operates out of the Wajid Ali Compound in Sakinaka. If you are looking for us, we are at number 3, right behind the Dilshad Hotel. It’s a practical location for the kind of work we do, which is mostly building and fixing seating. The workshop can get a bit loud with the tools and the sound of people working on frames and upholstery. We have various materials lying around, like foam and different kinds of fabrics, because there is always a project in the works. Being behind a hotel makes it easier to explain where we are to people who aren't from the Sakinaka area. The Wajid Ali Compound has a few other businesses too, so there is usually something going on nearby. It’s not a showroom with bright lights; it’s a real workspace where things actually get made. We spend a lot of time on our feet, measuring things out and making sure the cushions are right. Some days we are buried under piles of work, and other days we have a bit more time to tidy up the benches. We don't have a fancy office staff, just the people who know how to put a chair together properly. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it from this same spot for quite a while now. Most people find us through word of mouth or by just walking into the compound at Sakinaka.
