Bharat Machinery & Spares, Mumbai

Our shop is right on the Andheri-Kurla Road in Mumbai, over in J.B. Nagar. If you’ve ever been to Andheri East, you know how the traffic can be, especially near 58/59 where we are. Bharat Machinery & Spares has been a fixture here for a long time. Inside, it’s a bit of a squeeze because we try to keep so many different spares in stock. There are rows and rows of metal parts, some in boxes and some just lying out on the shelves. It’s a bit dark inside because the building is older, but we know where everything is. We spend most of our time dealing with people who are in a hurry because their machines have broken down. There’s a lot of grease on the counters and our hands are rarely clean. We don't have a shiny showroom or a team of salesmen. It’s usually just a couple of us behind the desk, looking through old catalogs or checking the inventory on a screen that’s a bit dusty. The noise from the Andheri-Kurla Road never really stops, so we have to talk a bit louder to be heard over the trucks and the metro. We’ve grown used to the pace of Mumbai life. It’s a busy, cramped, and noisy place to work, but it’s where we’ve built everything. We just try to get the right spare part to the right person as quickly as we can. We've been at 400059 for years now.
