We are located on the first floor of a building in the Laxmi Industrial Area, right on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road. The address says 22 Issaji Street, which is where we’ve been for quite a while. It’s an old industrial building, so the stairs are a bit steep and the walls could use a new coat of paint. We do mostly wholesale work here, dealing with various items that go out to other shops. The office is usually full of ledgers and samples of what we sell. It gets quite loud during the day because of the workshops downstairs, but we are used to the noise by now. My desk faces the window that looks out onto the street, and I see the delivery tempos coming and going all day long. It’s not a fancy place where you’d bring guests, but it’s where we get our work done. We start our day around ten and usually wrap up by seven in the evening. There are a few of us working here, mostly family and a couple of clerks. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the market prices. The area is always cramped with vehicles, so getting things in and out takes some time. It’s just a regular business life in a busy part of the city. We don't do much marketing; people just know where we are.
