Barkathulla & Company sits right on Abdul Rehman Street at 14 A. If you know this part of the city, you know how packed it gets with people and goods moving everywhere. Our place is right in the middle of all that chaos. We deal with a lot of wholesale items and bulk orders, so the shop is usually filled with crates and heavy packages stacked up to the ceiling. It’s an old building, and the stairs are narrow, which makes moving stuff a bit of a workout every day. We’ve been operating out of this address for years, and the routine hasn't changed much. We start early to beat the worst of the traffic, though there’s always a truck unloading something nearby. The desks are covered in ledgers and pens because we still like to keep track of things manually most of the time. It gets very loud outside with all the shouting and horns, but inside we just focus on the orders. We don't really have a decorative front; it’s more of a warehouse feel where the focus is on moving stock. It can be a bit dusty and the light isn’t great, but it’s where we spend our lives. Dealing with different suppliers and customers keeps us on our toes. It’s just a standard business on a very famous street, doing what we do every day.
