If you come to Borivali West and find the Jalaram Business building, we are right there on the 3rd floor in unit 301. It’s a busy area, so the noise from the street usually makes its way up, but inside we try to keep things a bit more orderly. We deal with all sorts of Ayurvedic things here. There’s always that distinct smell of herbal oils and powders the moment you step out of the lift. It’s not like those big corporate hospitals you see in the papers. We have a few rooms for treatments and a small waiting area that gets crowded on Monday mornings. People come from all over the suburb, some looking for joint pain relief and others just wanting some traditional herbs. We spend a lot of time explaining how the different oils work or how to take the churnas properly. The elevator in this building is a bit slow, so we often tell people to give themselves a few extra minutes. The staff here is small, just a couple of us handling the desk and the therapy rooms. We don’t use any loud advertisements or big banners. Most people find us because someone else told them about their experience here. It’s a simple setup with wooden benches and plenty of glass jars filled with roots and leaves. We stay busy with the daily routine of cleaning, mixing, and attending to whoever walks through the door.
