Ashrafi Telecom

We are tucked away in Sewree at A/12. This area has a lot of history, and you can feel it when you walk through the narrow lanes. Ashrafi Telecom has been here long enough that I know most of the people who live in the nearby buildings by their first names. We do a lot of things with mobile phones, like recharges and fixing screens that people dropped on the pavement. It’s a busy little spot. Most days I’m hunched over a desk with a tiny screwdriver trying to see these small parts. My eyes get tired by the evening. The shop is small, so we have to keep everything very organized or you can't even find a charging cable. We don't have a big sign with blinking lights. Usually, someone just tells their neighbor to come see us if their phone starts acting up. I drink a lot of tea while I work. The tea seller from around the corner knows exactly how I like it. It’s a bit noisy here with the trucks moving nearby, but you get used to it after a month or two. Sometimes the internet goes slow and customers get annoyed, but there’s not much I can do about the towers. I just try to help them get their calls working again. It’s decent work and keeps me busy from morning until late at night. I usually close the shutter around nine and walk home. It's a simple life.
