Ashok K Goel

Our office is in Dhobi Talao on the 9th Cross, which some of the older folks still call the 14th Cross. It’s on the 1st Main in Saraswathi Nagar. If you know the area, we are right opposite the Marine Line Vegetable Market. Ashok K Goel has been operating from this spot for quite some time. In the mornings, it’s really loud because of all the vendors and people buying their groceries. You can smell the fresh coriander and onions right from our front door. The building we are in is one of those older structures with a lot of character and maybe a few leaks when the monsoon hits hard. We have a small sign out front, but it’s easy to miss if the market is crowded. Inside, it's mostly just piles of files and a few heavy wooden desks that have seen better days. We don’t have an air conditioner, just a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit on high speed. The 9th Cross is narrow, so parking is always a headache for anyone visiting. Most of us just take the train to Marine Lines and walk over. It's a short walk, but you have to dodge a lot of handcarts. We keep a pot of water in the corner for anyone who’s thirsty. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. It’s just a regular place where work happens.
