Arvind Plasdtic Industries

Arvind Plasdtic Industries is in Malad West, situated on Commercial Street at F 6. Our place is basically a small factory unit where we produce various plastic items. The sound of the machines is something you get used to pretty quickly, a constant rhythmic thumping that fills the space. We have stacks of raw plastic granules in one corner and finished products in another. It is a bit of a maze sometimes when we have a big order ready for dispatch. The air is often warm because of the heating elements used in the molding process. We are just a group of regular people working shifts to keep the production going. We don't have a fancy corporate office. My desk is right near the main door, so I can see everyone coming and going. We deal with local wholesalers and some small businesses that need specific plastic parts or containers. It is a straightforward operation. We don't bother with big advertisements. Most of our work comes from people knowing we have been here for years and that we just do what we say we will. We spend a lot of time maintaining the machinery because if something breaks, everything stops. It is a hands-on job, and we usually go home with a bit of grease or dust on our clothes. We like the honesty of making something physical. Malad West has changed a lot around us, but we just keep doing our thing at the same old spot.
