Arvind Engg Works

Arvind Engg Works is tucked away in Wadala East, specifically at Unit 1/2 in the Shram Siddhivinayak Cooperative Premises. We are in the A Wing of Plot J1. Being right opposite the New Cuffe Parade and near the Wadala Truck Terminal means there is always a lot of movement outside. You can hear the trucks shifting gears all day long. Inside our unit, it’s mostly the sound of metal and tools. We do various engineering tasks, which basically means a lot of grease, noise, and fixing things that come our way. The space isn’t huge, so we have to be smart about where we put the machines and the raw materials. It’s a bit cramped when a big job comes in, but we make it work. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years, so we don't need to talk much to know what needs to happen next. We wear our work clothes until they’re stained, and the floor usually has some metal shavings on it by noon. It’s a practical kind of place. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-task with a tool in hand. It’s loud, it’s a bit messy, but that is just how an engineering workshop in a place like Wadala operates. We just keep the machines running and handle the work as it arrives.
