Down on Dilip Gupte Path in Mahim, you can find us at Plot No. B-53, right in Bhagya Shop 1. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we have so many different types of brushes, papers, and tubes of paint stacked up on the shelves. Sometimes I think we have too much stuff, but then someone comes in looking for a very specific shade of blue and I’m glad we kept it. The lighting isn't the greatest towards the back of the shop, so we often take things out to the front door to see the colors properly in the daylight. It’s a messy place, honestly. There are always bits of scrap paper or dried paint drips on the counter where we test things out for customers. The neighborhood is always moving, and we get a lot of students and local folks who just like to make things. We don't really do much advertising because the shop has been here for years and people just know it’s the place to go when they run out of supplies. Sometimes the cat from next door comes in and sleeps on the rug, and we just leave him be. It’s a quiet life for the most part, apart from the noise of the traffic on the main road. We keep the ledger by hand mostly. It’s just how we’ve always done things here in Mahim.
