Apurva Traders

Apurva Traders is located deep in the heart of Bhuleshwar, at Coopers Compound on T Parshuram Street. If you’ve ever been to Khetwadi, you know how narrow the lanes are and how crowded it gets with handcarts and delivery vans every single morning. Our place at 150 B is right in the thick of it. We are traders, so our day is mostly about goods coming in and going out on those small carts. The compound is always buzzing with activity and workers. There’s no fancy signage or glass doors here. It’s an old-school trading post with heavy wooden doors and high ceilings that keep it a bit cooler. I spend my time checking manifests, talking to suppliers on the phone, and making sure the loaders are putting things in the right place so we don't lose anything. The air is often thick with the smell of the market and the sound of people shouting to get through the narrow gaps. It’s a very traditional way of doing business in Mumbai. We have a small corner with a desk and an old calculator where I do all the math for the day's sales. My clothes usually get a bit dusty from the crates and sacks, but that’s just part of the job here. There’s a small tea stall just outside the compound where everyone gathers to discuss the day’s prices and the weather. It’s a tough environment because it’s so hot and cramped, but I’ve been here for years and the work is steady.
