Ansari General Store

Ansari General Store is located in Chembur, and we are actually up on the 2nd floor, in room 7. It’s a bit unusual for a general store to be on the second floor, but that’s where we’ve been for quite some time. Most of our customers are people who live in the building or nearby and know exactly where to find us. We keep a variety of everyday items, from soaps and detergents to basic groceries and some stationery. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful about how much stock we bring in. The stairs can be a bit of a climb, especially if we are carrying heavy boxes up. We don't have any big signs out on the main road, so we rely on the locals knowing we are here. It’s a quiet operation compared to the shops on the ground floor. We spend our time keeping the shelves tidy and chatting with whoever comes in. It’s a family-run thing and we don't have any plans to change how we do things. The room gets a nice breeze in the evening when we open the window. We aren't looking to be the biggest store in Chembur. We just want to provide what the neighbors need. It’s a very simple setup with no frills. We just do our work and go home at the end of the day.
